In order to maintain and enhance its current high level of growth, Bristol-based Panoramic Windows and Conservatories has launched an advertising campaign using posters that prominently feature the BSI Kitemark. And preliminary results show that the posters are generating a high level of interest, not least because the Kitemark is so widely recognised by the UK public as one of the best and most dependable indicators of quality and reliability.

Panoramic Windows and Conservatories, which has recently acquired and absorbed the business of City Glass, is the first company in Bristol to hold a Kitemark licence under the product installers' scheme operated by British Standards Institution. Awarded only after a searching examination of the company's business procedures by BSI inspectors, the licence recognises the quality and consistency of the company's work, the excellence of its customer service, and its approved warranty procedures.

"One of the many benefits we get as a Kitemark licensee is that we are permitted to use the Kitemark in our publicity material," said Steve Evans, Managing Director of Panoramic, "so it made very good sense to give it a prominent place in our posters. It is, after all, something we can be very proud of, and something that instantly shows that we're a top-flight company. The Kitemark also makes it possible for us - a medium-sized local company - to complete on a level playing field with our much bigger national competitors."

The first posters promoting Panoramic were installed on the Wells Road early in 2010, and started almost immediately to have a positive effect on the level of enquiries received by the company.

"While the enquiries were, of course, about our windows, doors and conservatories, many of the callers did actually mention that the Kitemark had caught their attention," said Steve Evans. " This confirmed beyond all doubt the appeal of the Kitemark, and that the investment we made in our Kitemark licence was money very well spent."

Following the success of the initial phase of its poster campaign, Panoramic will expand coverage later in the year to include sites adjacent to the M32, the Gloucester Road and the Bath Road. The posters will be used not only to promote the company's popular uPVC products, but also increase awareness of its new aluminium and timber products, and its specialist services relating to the design and construction of orangeries.

City Glass has ceased to trade following 45 years of continuous service in the Bristol/Bath area.  Throughout their history they provided first class products and earned a reputation for excellence.

However, their business model based on manufacturing a wide range of products became obsolete as a new generation of suppliers emerged, all offering excellence within their own specialist product range.
