Installation Guidelines
Welcome to our guidelines – Preparing for your installation:
Your responsibility for preparation of site for installation
With your co-operation we can work together to make your installation as smooth and hassle free as possible.
Access for our team on arrival
Our team will arrive on site usually between 8 – 9 am unless otherwise specified. There is no need to stay while the installation is happening.
It is critical that safe and full access is made available to the site for our team during the installation period. If the property is not freely accessible and in a suitable state and condition to receive our team, then we may be forced to reschedule your installation and charge for our waste attendance at a fee of £500 + VAT.
Usually, we start upstairs and work down on the property. But this can be discussed, and an alternative agreement reached together, if necessary, before commencing the installation.
Parking
Parking will need to be made available for our van for the duration of installation. This may require parking permits to be arranged. For smooth arrival and set up for our team, we request this is all considered and taken care of before we arrive. Any problems, let us know in advance.
Furnishings, valuables and window dressings
All window dressings, valuables or delicate items, and furniture that cause an obstruction must be removed ahead of our team arriving on site for installation.
Ensure that prior to installation all valuable or delicate items; including antiques, ornaments, electrical goods, computers etc, are removed or safely stored away from the immediate installation area and are afforded some protection.
Likewise, any furniture or obstructions to the installation areas need to be moved in advance. If assistance is required, we need to be notified in advance of arrival.
All window dressings: blinds, shutters, curtains, need to be removed and stored safely before our team arrive to commence the installation. It is not their responsibility to remove these. If this preparation is not completed it could result in delays to your installation.
Other trades onsite
When our installation coincides with other tradesmen working at your home, or on site, it is crucial that you make every effort to ensure your new doors and windows are protected from damage. Panoramic cannot accept responsibility for any damage which may occur subsequent to our installation.
On completion of the installation
You will need to complete a ‘walk round’ with us to inspect the installation for the purposes of our Installation Completion Report, to ensure you are satisfied with all aspects of your installation
Therefore, to complete the installation we will need you there to sign off this report at the end. If for any reason we are unable to complete the installation, you and one of our fitters will complete a list to confirm any ‘snags’ for finishing. Snagging items will be placed on the Snag List and will be dealt with as soon as reasonably possible. We will then make arrangements to return to the property to complete the Installation Remedial work agreed.
If you are not present for this final sign off, our installation team will take photos and this will be used as a full and final record of the installation.
Expectations of how we will leave the site
Whilst every effort is made to avoid the need for remedial work, the processes involved during survey, manufacture, transportation and installation can result in errors, omissions or damage. It is the Company’s policy to rectify these issues at its own expense, and we do not offer additional reparation.
Installation of windows and doors into new build
Our standard procedure is to foam fill the expansion gap both internally and externally. All making good internally and externally whether a render finish, plastering or fitting trims shall be the responsibility of the Customer. This work is to be carried out after installation of the product and not prior to the fitting.
Panoramic will remove all taping protection and glass labels at the point of installation and clean both frames and glass. At the end our installation team will inspect the frames with the customer to ensure the frames and glass are free from any damage. We recommend at this point the frames and glass are protected from potential damage by other trades.
Panoramic cannot accept responsibility for marks or scratches following our initial installation. This will be part of the Installation Completion Report inspection, conducted in conjunction with you at the end of the installation.
